What Changes the Price

  • Piston count. A six piston Brembo takes far more work than a single piston sliding caliper, which is why prestige makes start higher.
  • Condition. Badly seized pistons, snapped bleed screws or damaged threads need engineering time on top.
  • Pistons. Only replaced if they fail inspection, about 13% of them, and charged separately. We don't price pistons into every job to keep the starting price honest.
  • Finish. Standard paint, high-end paint, colour matching, logos and candy or pearl finishes each add to the price.
  • Rarity. Classics, carbon ceramics and unusual calipers are quoted individually, because parts can need sourcing or making.

Questions About Price

How much does it cost to refurbish brake calipers?

From £65 per caliper for everyday, performance and premium cars, and from £85 for prestige makes such as Porsche and Ferrari, carriers included. Classics, carbon ceramics and rare calipers are quoted individually. The form above gives you an exact figure.

How much does brake caliper painting cost?

Standard painting in red, silver, gunmetal or black starts from £95 per pair. High-end painting in any colour is quoted by colour and caliper. Logos and stencils are £17.50, and special finishes are priced on top.

Is the price per caliper or per set?

Refurbishment is priced per caliper, so a pair is two and a full set is four. Painting is priced per pair.

Will the final price match the quote?

Usually. It only changes if a piston fails inspection or your calipers need engineering work such as a snapped bleed screw or a damaged thread, and we call you to agree any change before carrying on.

When do I pay?

Once your calipers have arrived and been assessed, we call to confirm the final price, and payment is taken then, before the work starts. Nobody pays on completion, trade or private.

Do trade customers pay different prices?

No. Garages, dealers and private owners all pay the same prices. What the trade get is a quick route for seized calipers, our un-seize and repair service, which is for the motor trade only.

Is refurbishing cheaper than buying new calipers?

Usually, and the result is better. Most "new" calipers from garages and parts suppliers are exchange units remanufactured in huge volumes. A refurbished original comes with a lifetime function warranty, and for classic and rare cars it's often the only option.
