Mercedes 190 E 1.8 Calipers

1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994

  • Front brake calipers: Two variations on this model using Ate or Lucas/Girling brake caliper, both with a single 54mm diameter piston.  These brakes will be fitted with discs/rotors 12mm thick and 262mm in diameter for both variation of caliper.
  • Rear brake calipers: Two variations on the rear calipers, ATE calipers with a 35mm piston (OEM no. 201 420 00 or 01 83) ad Bendix brake calipers also with a 35mm piston.  This vehicle will use the same  brake master cylinder, same brake pads and the same disc brake rotors at 9mm think and 258mm in diameter.

Mercedes 190 E 2.0 Calipers

1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994

Mercedes 190 D 2.0D Calipers

1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994

  • Front brake calipers: Just the one variation of brake caliper on the 2.0 Diesel, an Ate caliper with a single 54mm diameter piston, these often have an anti-vibration shim/collar around the front of the piston. “48” casting number. OEM Number: 000 420 50 83 or 000 420 51 83.  The discs will be 12mm thick and 262mm in diameter.
  • Rear brake calipers:  Two variations on the rear calipers, ATE calipers with a 35mm piston, OEM numbers: 201 420 00 83 or 201 420 01 83) and Bendix brake calipers also with a 35mm piston OEM Numbers: 201 420 04 83 or 201 420 04 83, casting numbers will look like 328 198 199.  The 190D 2.0D will use the same brake pads and the same disc brake rotors at 9mm think and 258mm in diameter for both brake caliper variations

Mercedes 190 D 2.5D Calipers

1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994

  • Front brake calipers:  The 190D 2.5 Diesel calipers come in 3 variations, rather conveniently they all have a 54mm pistons and the same type of dust cover so there is no problem in identifying the required caliper parts for a rebuild.  The are two calipers for the non-turbo, non vented 12mm thick discs are ATE brake calipers; cast no. 47, OEM number: 000 420 50 83 or 000 420 51 83.  Lucas Girling (TRW) cast no. 1476, OEM number: 000 420 52 83 or 000 420 54 83.  The third variation of brake caliper is for the 190D 2.5 Turbo Diesel is by Lucas Girling (TRW), the discs will be 22mm thick vented 262mm in diameter. Casting numbers on these calipers will show “54”, the OEM numbers are: 3232 2685 / 000 420 62 83 or 3232 2684 / 000 420 61 83.
  • Rear brake calipers:  Two variations on the rear calipers, ATE calipers with a 35mm piston, OEM numbers: 201 420 00 83 or 201 420 01 83) and Bendix brake calipers also with a 35mm piston OEM Numbers: 201 420 04 83 or 201 420 04 83, casting numbers will look like 328 198 199.  The 190D 2.0D will use the same brake pads and the same disc brake rotors at 9mm think and 258mm in diameter for both brake calipers.
