The company were very thorough with regard to the specification of the finish standard and its colour. The quality they supplied me was spectacular... and I cannot wait to install them on the car. The fronts will be getting the same treatment in the future. The turnaround was very quick, read more

This is the second set of calipers I've had painted by BCS and overall I'm happy. I'm probably more critical than most due to my line of work, but... I'm also comparing my second set to the first I had Painted by BCS. The first set were pretty much perfect, Colour and Paint finish were spot on overall. There has been no deterioration of the finish at all to date. The second set Pictured are also well finished, The fronts are spot on but the rears are not finished to the same standard this time unfortunately. The plates have some marks where the protective packaging was stuck to them and the rear carriers look like there may have been some reaction, I did not use the BCS cast smoothing but did carry this out myself as I have previously. BCS have kindly offered to rectify the plates and rear carriers, and have offered an open timescale which I do appreciate, however I only have one car and unfortunately won't have the luxury of taking it off the road again for some time, not to mention the work and shipping costs involved. I would use BCS again as I've seen first hand the finish that can be achieved maybe just with a request for some extra quality control.read more

FAQ’s

Q. Can you spray brake caliper paint?
A. Yes, our standard range is suitable for both spray and brush painting and full instructions are provided. Baking the calipers at 60c for around 45 minutes is ideal where the facilities are available. However, you really don’t need to worry if you don’t or can’t bake your calipers after spraying or brush painting them.

Q. Can you dilute brake caliper paint with thinners?
A. Yes, but you must use standard thinners only and we don’t recommend using thinners if you are brushing the product. In our pro kits, we supply enough thinners for our heat resistant base coat. But if you’re spraying our brake caliper paint from a spray gun, just add ‘to taste’ so to speak so you are  happy with how it’s coming out the nozzle. Use a minimum 1.2mm nozzle and an absolute max of 1.8mm, but you’ll need to turn your feed down.

Q. Do I have to remove the brakes from the vehicle?
A. Ideally if it’s no trouble for you (we would). But on the whole, no, if you’re doing this at home and don’t have the facilities to remove your brakes and do them ‘properly’, then we just recommend that you be as thorough as possible when it comes to cleaning and preparing the brakes. If you are spraying the product while on the car, we highly advise bagging the vehicle and thoroughly masking the disc, pads and arches.

Q. Can I sand or flat and polish brake caliper paint?
A. Yes. But don’t use anything more coarse than 1200 grit wet and dry and be careful on edges, if machine polishing with a handheld polisher, you should mask sharp/hard edges.

Q. When will I receive my brake caliper painting kit
A. We ship by Parcelforce next day and we aim to ship all web orders by 12 noon. So, as long as you purchase before 12 noon, you should receive your kit on the following working day. This isn’t guarantee’d though, if you need a guaranteed next day delivery, we recommend calling us on 01159722668

Q. Can I paint my brakes in an unventilated area?
A. No. If you are spraying, you will need an adequate respirator and you should not breath in the fumes or particles. If you are applying the brake caliper paint by brush, then you still need to be in a ventilated area. For example, if you are doing this in your garage, simply having your garage door(s) open a little will be sufficient.
